Who We Are

Data Collection and Usage

Nutrilio does not require an account. Because we do not provide an account creation option, we do not store, nor do we have access to, your entries and personal data. Your data is stored locally on your device.

You can optionally back up your data to Google Drive (Android) or Apple iCloud (iOS). These backups are stored in your private cloud space; we never have access to your backup files.

We only obtain your email address if you request support via email or our contact form. We use this information solely to provide support, feedback, or essential app information.

Backups

We strongly advise users to regularly back up their data. You can manually export backup files or use our optional cloud backup features.

Android: Google Drive Backups

Android users can optionally back up data using Google Drive. These backups are stored in your private Google Drive space. We use a secure connection to your Google Account, and data is stored in a private folder inaccessible to other apps or our team. View the Google Privacy Policy for more details.

Email and name permissions are requested only to display which account is currently linked for backups. This information is not stored by the app.

iOS: iCloud Backups

iOS users can optionally back up data via iCloud Drive. iCloud secures your information by encrypting it in transit and at rest. For sensitive data, Apple uses end-to-end encryption, meaning only you can access your information on your authorized devices. Learn more at Apple’s iCloud Security Overview.

AI and Data Processing

Nutrilio utilizes AI technologies, including ChatGPT by OpenAI, to analyze food photos and provide nutritional insights. When you upload a photo for recognition, it is processed by ChatGPT to generate results.

User Consent: By using the food recognition feature, you consent to ChatGPT processing your photos for these purposes. Data shared with OpenAI is handled according to their Privacy Policy. All communication between Nutrilio and OpenAI is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.

Apple Health Integration

You may opt-in to integrate Nutrilio with Apple Health. If granted, the app will import relevant data into Nutrilio. We cannot read your health data without your explicit permission. Data accessed from Apple Health is never shared with third parties or advertisers.

The app is not responsible for the protection of data stored within Apple Health; you and Apple are responsible for the security of that information.

Analytics

We collect anonymized usage data (e.g., app launches, taps, in-app purchases, and session duration) to help us improve Nutrilio. This data is fully aggregated and cannot be linked to any individual user. We do not collect user-generated content like names, emails, photos, or text entries through analytics.

Third-Party Services (Android)

• Google Analytics for Firebase: Analyzes usage patterns. Data collected includes device info, geography, and session duration (Retained for 2 months).
• Firebase Crashlytics: Identifies crashes to improve stability. Data includes crash traces and device models (Retained for 90 days).

Third-Party Services (iOS)

• Google Analytics for Firebase: Collects anonymized usage data. No personal data is collected (Retained for 2 months).
• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports to improve performance. No personal data is collected (Retained for 90 days).
